Works with Kingmax SD or MobyMemory MMC Memory Card( webmaster) | Posted: [Monday, December 27, 2004 18:48] |
For those fortunate enough to own a Send X symbian mobile, you have the choice in terms of memory card that you wish to go for... You can go for maximum speed with one of our SD hi-speed Platinum Kingma X memory cards Or you can go for maxmum compatibility with one of our MobyMemory MMC memory cards The hi-speed SD cards from Kingma X will support a file transfer of up to 10mb per second (when connected via USB2 card reader to a PC). On the other hand, our MobyMemory MMC cards will work with virtually all SD slot devices (including the Sendo X , and countless SD-slot cameras) as well as all MMC slot devices, like the Nokia and Siemens mobile phones and other MMC-only devices.. (SD cards do not work in MMC only slots, whilst MMC cards will work in almost all SD slots). It depends which suits your purposes best.. :-)

The Sandisk 2GB sd memory card is a little slower than the Kingma X Platinum series (up to 3MB per second speed under our real-life tests with our USB2 card readers, but theretically a little higher - it is 40 X card i believe.) The reason we went for these is that the price point is excellent for a 2GB SD, reliability is good with it being SanDisk, and price/availability on alternatives : ATP 2GB SD, and SanDisk UltraII, will not be good for a quite a while yet. Unless you need more speed for the latest digital DV corder (Panasonic AV-100) or 8megapixel plus digi-SLR camera, it will work at full stretch with any PDA or smartphone mobiles out there; the Windows smartphones like iMate JAM / iMate PDA2K and the operator equivalents (like Orange M2000 / M3000, O2 XDA II, XDA IIi, XDA IIi) all spring to mind. I have to say it works beautifully with my Sendo X ! You can get them on the link below, and we should have enough stock to last until next weekend at current rate of sales 2GB SanDisk memory cards for SD-slot mobile phones Cheers

hi looks good,
but what are the transfer speeds as not stated on website also any chance of answering the question about moving mp3s from my pc to my phone and then to my work pc? does the memory card put some kind of protection on the files so you cant move them around from pc to pc?
any help would be very helpful already have the Sendo X just trying to find someone who can answer the question about shifting music without copy protection. (i already own the cd, just need to know for convenience otherwise mmc is the go but would prefer sd for higher transfer speeds)
thanks in advance.

we now stock 2GB SanDisk sd memory cards for the Sendo X , at the great introductory price of 129.95 including VAT These cards work great with the Sendo X , as i am using the combo myself. Tons of room for lots of MP3 files.. ps. [ Sendo X & 2GB SanDisk card] is my top tip for a good value mobile smartphone alternative to the iPod right now.. it has enough room for over 50 hours of good quality music, and the Sendo X is beginning to appear at bigger discounts now as well.. Happy listening..

hi, thanks for the quick reply, q1. i am worried about playing mp3 files which have come from the net, my work pc, home pc etc. as i have read that the sd cards have some kind of music protection on them (could you explain how this effects the end user)? ie i would like to know if i put some mp3 files on a sd card from my home computer and then i download the mp3 files on my work computer will they be able to play? q2. if i bought a moby 2 gig card and it wasnt compatable could i get a full refund? what are the read/write speeds? q3. will you be getting any kingma X 2 gig sd cards in? if so when and how much? what are the read/write speeds?
thanks again.

zardoz, 1. Not sure what you mean. They don't affect it at all, they are just digital files stored on the FAT filesystem on the flash memory card. 2. Certainly the 1GB MobyMemory MMC works great with the Sendo X (which has good all round compatibility), so i would anticipate no problems whatsoever (it has worked great with all other phones we tested against). We would appreciate hearing back after you have tried. 3. We are favouring Kingma X hi-speed SD cards right now for excellent compatibility and great speeds and better prices hope that helps. Cheers

hi,
i have a few questions i hope you can answer:
1. how do sd cards effect the use of mp3's in real usage? 2. is the moby mmc 2 gig card compatable with the sendoX? 3. when are you going to get the sandisk ultra II 2 gig sd cards and will they be compatable with the sendoX?
thanks in advance.
