WETTING a 6600

oh no...a few months ago my 6600 got drenched (seawater) and ever since its been almost impossible to use

firstly it hardly picks up my voice when im talking with another person, secondly the keys sometimes work or sometimes dont, thirdly because certain keys work when they want, it makes it hard to enter in phone numbers, pin, and ultimately use the phone.

I have had it looked at by a certified nokia person but he couldnt fix it (and i paid a fee) and he said that the phone will only get worse! Also, i dont live in a capital city so i cant take it to a nokia centre to have it looked at

I purchased the phone overseas and therefore i dont have insurance on it and its a lil over a year now.

I have dried it out under a lamp and also sprayed some drying agent stuff onto to keypad which had helped make some of the keys work but still they choose not to work.

So the phone turns on and off, lets most keys work at different times, occasionaly the screen goes completely blue and says some "error occured" (like a computer would) and occassionaly freezes. If i use a headset the phone works fine (the receiver can hear me) however i wanna be able to use it WITHOUT the headset....ANY SUGGESTIONS???????

so much sounds like it may be damaged too badly;  a new (or trade-in model) may be your best bet now..

the circuitry round the speaker and microphone may be damged, at the very least..

all i can suggest is that you visit a decent phone repair shop. your 6600 sounds like it has suffered enough and is now in need of some TLC and money spent on it!

whether it can be fixed, i dont know, but if you can find a good repair guy, they are worth their weight in gold.

cheers
